I Want More Battery Life
3/08/2010 10:31:00 PM Posted by noel
Saw Eric, my favorite Asianic salesman, at SM Bicutan’s Bldg A side entrance this afternoon. He’s in-charge of the Asus Eee PC booth.
I was impressed with the laptops' specs, especially with the battery life. All models can last up to 11 hours! But I’m not buying. Kasi 11 hours daw pag standby lang. LoL!
Anyway, I was actually looking for an extra battery for my Lenovo but Eric said it’s only available at the Lenovo store in SM Cubao. I don’t know where the heck is SM Cubao. But I think I’m going there before I go to Nasugbu on the 20th.
Cheap Wireless Mouse
3/03/2010 11:32:00 PM Posted by noel
Bought a wireless mouse for the net book. Sometimes it’s fun to use the scroll pad, but when you’re in a hurry and especially when editing pics, I really need to use a mouse.
I don’t need to say where it’s from cuz it’s already written on the mouse. It costs Php480 and it functions as a mouse naman kahit cheap compared to other leading brands. The default speed is way too fast than the regular A4Tech that I’m fond of using, but you can always adjust that to whatever speed satisfies you.
Now I have a problem with taking pictures of my loot and posting them here. Someone thinks I’m being mayabang. Hello Bam hehe. But no I’m not mayabang. First off, my purchases aren’t that expensive to be called mayabang. Look at all the other blogs out there and compare. Second, I post pics of stuff for reference. Like when and where I bought something and the likes, and of course, to share na rin what I think of them – if they’re good or not so good.
So there. And really I’m not mayabang. As if naman lotsa people are reading this blog. I get an average of 20 hits a day and I’m sure more than half of my daily visitors belong to my immediate family.
Globe Tattooo

Bought a Globe Tattoo Prepaid Kit last Saturday. Wala lang. I just wanna be connected wherever I am. I hate feeling helpless especially when I'm in SM and the wi-fi indicator says I'm connected but I can't even browse Google.
What I like about this Tattoo is that I can call and text thru my netbook! Ang sarap magtext using a computer.
I removed the sticker. Ampanget e.

Received my free Mobile Philippines subscription this morning, and I just can't help but go ooh and ahh at the featured digicams. I promised myself, though, that I won't be buying anymore digicams until I've gotten myself a Flip camcorder.
Kodak C813 Comes With a Free Book
5/29/2009 03:37:00 PM Posted by noel
Since I'm going out-of-town for the weekend, I decided to buy a cheap digicam to bring along. I don't wanna bring my phone or my other digicam. It's inuman and I heard lots of my friend's friends are coming. Actually most of them I'm sure I don't know. And I just know how wild the gathering would get.
Yesterday, I went to Asianic first to look for the cheapest cam but they had phased out the one I had in mind. I was thinking of the Casio 3 mpx cam I saw on someone's blog. Their cheapest one was the Kodak C813. It came with a 1G SD and that's all. Good thing I decided to look around first. I dropped by Silicon Valley and they had the same cam, and for the same price, it included a 2G SD and a free Twilight book!
LOL! They only had New Moon, though.
And yea I also bought this at Watsons:
Swine Flu paranoia. Gawd!
New Ericsson, New Nokia
2/18/2009 05:13:00 PM Posted by noel
Should it be the Sony Ericsson with 12-megapixel cam, 3.5-inch LCD and Xenon flash?
Or should it be the new Nokia N86 with 8-megapixel cam?

Old Handset Makes a Comeback

The things that caught my eyes at the 2009 CES:
Yubz Talk Handset
Yubz Talk/9linesmag
A stylized retro headset handset that you can plug into your cell phone. If you’re attention-whore much, this is a perfect gadget. It looks so fun I wonder when it’ll hit the local market. Hmm…
The Palm Pre
Palm Pre/zdnet
New OS, full browser, touch screen, and wireless charging! And I read it costs less.
How about plugging in a Yubz Talk handset in a Palm Pre?
Vaio P Series Lifestyle PC
Sony Vaio Netbook/geeksugar
This 8-inch beauty is the world’s lightest at only 1.4 lbs. It has WiFi, Bluetooth, webcam, and a LED-backlit LCD.
Discounts
11/10/2008 11:16:00 PM Posted by noel
I went to buy a new cpu to replace one at the shop that has been giving me headaches since last month. Asianic Bicutan has a new supervisor. Jonathan (the previous supervisor) and I are already friends, and for a while I thought of finding some other store to buy my stuff when I learned that he has been assigned to some other branch. But since I really need a new cpu ASAP, I tried talking to the new supervisor this morning over the phone to give me quotations of so and so. When he called back, I noticed that he gave me better discounts compared to Jon. LOL! And based on that alone, I think we'll be friends, too. His name is Cris, btw.

It's a 2.53 Core 2 Duo with 1G DDR2, 80G SATA and 512 ATI Video. The stuff in front of the box are extra memory sticks and an extra IDE hard drive for stock.
While they were assembling the cpu, we went to Jollibee because I brought with me an alalay. I can't go out alone when I have Princess in tow. So I asked a kid neighbor to go with me. He's actually the kid of the Bayantel salesman who was salestalking me into buying a wireless landline. Anyway, I haven't decided yet if I really need a wireless landline. But here's the Bayantel salesman kid with Princess.
The Phone Goes to Charity

My cellphone was stolen. It was a cheap Nokia, but I love it nonetheless. And it isn't really the value of what's taken, but the fact that someone stole something from me.
What's worrying me is Joseph's account in Cabal Online. Details are all in that phone. Good thing I was able to recall the password. So right now I'm on vigil. I can't log his character out for fear that the cellphone thief might try to hack it. I've texted Joseph several times already but I guess he was already asleep or using a different sim card.
It was about 10:30pm when I noticed that my phone's missing. I told Angel about it and she was like "Since when?!" 'cause according to her, I still texted her using my globe when she was still in school. And to top it all, I even gave her a "miss call" (something I never do). She had already deleted the text messages but the call register was still in her phone - it was between 5-6pm. Last time I used my globe phone was when I transferred funds from my G-Cash to my load.com account. I checked my load.com transaction history and it says 1:25 pm.
I don't recall using/seeing the phone after that transaction. And the effing thief even texted my contacts! Angel said she found it weird when she received the messages from my globe 'cause according to her, the messages were "so not me."
To whomever has my phone now: God bless you!
I don't want any more phones. I still have my smart so I'll just stick to it. If it also gets stolen, I'll just use the land line or the internet messengers. No more phones! I'm thinking of just buying a new digicam. Something cheap that I can carry around anywhere, that I won't have to cry when it gets stolen.
Really, I prefer losing my gadgets to defects rather than to thieves.
Sony External DVD-RW
10/31/2008 12:08:00 PM Posted by noel
Bought this like two months ago. I never thought of buying a dvd-rom for my PC's. Not yet. Since everything naman is still in the old CD format - like my Windows installers and stuff. I don't use the PC to watch DVD movies, anyway, so I don't really need a DVD-ROM. Until I came upon this Sony DVD-RW at the Asianic website. I immediately thought that if I bought an external RW, I won't have to buy one for my home PC and another for the shop. I can easily bring it along and it looks so cool pa. Haha. Looks really deceive me. But I haven't used it yet. LOL. At least I already have one when everything's already on DVD. Does it make sense?
Anyway, Resty texted asking me to pay for Princess. Duhh! He gave it to me one moment, then the next moment he's asking me to pay for it. He said, "Bayaran mo na lang si Princess." Amf! He even gave me his Chinabank account number so I can deposit the money there. Hate it. But I'm already attached to the dog. So I'm paying. Four effing thousand lang naman. But even if it's cheaper, the thing is he's making me pay for something he gave me. Good thing I never accepted other stuff.
Nokia 5300. I Want!
10/30/2008 11:27:00 PM Posted by noel
I need a new phone. Damn! And I'm thinking of using my credit card to get one. But the other side of me says "Noooooo!" I already used it last Oct. 26 to pay half of the LG TFT (because I can't play Special Force on my old Samsung 17")
I wanted the AOC but upon arriving home, I noticed that it doesn't have a DVI port. Eh, since DVI is the future of videos, I don't see why I should buy a NEW monitor without DVI. Besides, my Samsung has DVI. So I sent my niece to SM Bicutan with the AOC to replace it with any other brand with the same specs, plus a DVI port. Notice the erasures on the receipt.
Anyway here's my new joy:
Anyway, Nokia 5300 isn't that expensive. And I don't think it has super fantastic features. But I find it so cool-looking. Chic. Looks like a toy. A little bulky, something I prefer over the super thin ones. Lee has one. It's really, really cool (looking). Camera's only 1.3 megapixels so okay na rin. Eh my digicam naman is 8 megapixels but I still resize the images to 25% whenever I upload it so 1.3 megapixels I think is just okay. Saka I won't be taking pictures naman with it. I just want a 5300. I wanna have one next week. By hook or by crook haha.
Law of attraction, please work. LOL!
Edit (11.05.08): My effing globe phone was stolen today. I still have my smart. But I don't wanna buy any more phones.

I Want a G9
9/05/2008 11:40:00 PM Posted by noel
I asked Angel to go to SM Bicutan this afternoon to take pics of the PDA2 scholars (hehe) for my other blog but she couldn't. Sayang. It should have been a very good update but heck, Angel was scheduled pala to go to this neighbor's eighteenth birthday party. I hope she takes care of my camera. It's antiquity is notable but it still does its job. Although I find it hard to use on dim places.
If only I could spend on some Cannon without the afterward guilt of spending so much on something not (very) essential. But if I could, I'd like a Canon G9. Haha. Ambisyoso.
But really this is cool. 12.1 megapixels. Makes me drool.
iPhone 3G
9/02/2008 08:22:00 PM Posted by noel

Globe is bringing iphone 3g to the country. I wonder when it will be out. Been reading a lot about it lately. But it's so expensive I'm not sure if it's worth the price (and the wait). I want first the people (from here) to have it and be able to comment about it before I decide to buy one. But just the same, I can't wait to get my hands on one.
Engadget has the most intensive review of the iphone 3g. Here's a part of their "other new and noteworthy features" list. You can check their full review by clicking here.
* As mentioned, Google Maps now shows a pinging blue locator that can track your movement. As of right now there's no way to convert this to KML or anything usable for geocaching.
* The camera will also now ask you permission to use GPS to geotag photos with your current location. Once you grant that permission, it will add the necessary standard EXIF data to your photos. Trés useful, but you can't refer back to those geotags to bring up a location in Google Maps.
* Side note: there's now an option to reset location notifications, if you accidentally granted permission to an app you don't want knowing where you are.
* The iPhone can now read PowerPoint, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote documents. It's still incapable of editing or creating new documents, however, and outside of sending yourself these files via email, there's no accessible file storage.
* You can now save images from the web to your camera roll by tapping and holding.
* The calculator goes into scientific mode when the device is tilted sideways.
* Entering passwords is a little easier -- the last character you entered is temporarily shown at the end of the string. Keeps things safe but makes sure you know if you mistyped.
* One of the very first things we ever requested the iPhone see fixed is finally fixed: calendar colors are now supported, meaning you can finally visually tell your appointments apart based on calendar.
* You can now control email, contact, and calendar fetching from system settings, giving you granular control over push and pull data on your various accounts.
